1. Vogue Patterns 2023 by Tom & Linda Platt Inc
The Vogue Patterns 2023 dress has a retro feel with simple lines and a back zipper. The stand up collar looks like it has channeling and depending on your fabric selection, it could be a little heavy. Also, the front pleating detail is slightly off on the photo — that would send me over the edge!

2. Vogue Patterns 2024 by Rachel Comey
There is a lot going on in Vogue Patterns 2024. A retro style shirt dress with a dropped waist and a back self-tie. There is a pleated back yoke and pleated skirt, along with bodice princess seams and a buttoned waist tab. Phew, I’m tired already.
After all that, the dress just hangs on the model. I’m not sure if it’s the cut or if it’s too big.

3. Vogue Patterns 2025
So cute and right on trend Vogue Patterns 2025 is a fit and flare dress with a front cut-out. I like the bustier look, but do you really need bias ties? There is a full back with a zipper. I think the ties just add unnecessary confusion to the look.
The high-waisted skirt portion has princess seams with welt pockets — a beautiful detail that gets lost in the busy print.

4. Vogue Patterns 2026
The flared tent dress, Vogue Patterns 2026, is an updated version of an old pattern. I made the old version and wear it as loungewear/pajamas. They have added trendy rick rack or lace to give the pattern an updated feel. I like the bias cut facings.
There is a lot of fabric in this dress; the long version in a size 14 takes 5 yards!

Fitted with a trumpet flounce, Vogue Patterns 2027 would be perfect for a black tie event. The low back and high waist with princess seams will show off your figure beautifully.

Wow, this fitted dress has an overdress — not sure for what purpose. Vogue Patterns 2028 has pretty princess seam shaping on the bodice and an interesting racer back cut. The drop waist flared skirt is lovely. I’m confused about the over dress — it just looks frumpy to me.

There is no doubt, Vogue Patterns 2029 is a stunning dress. The flared skirt with the blouse top is a winning combination.
I was recently at a black tie wedding, and the mother of the bride wore this exact dress. The skirt was hot pink satin and the top was a solid white silk. It was stunning.

Okay, Vogue Patterns 2042 is adorable. The 1970’s vibe with the vintage pattern is sexy yet offers coverage. The gathered front bracelet ring is trending everywhere on Tiktok and Instagram.
I am always hesitant to order patterns that just showcase line drawings. What you see is the artist’s rendition of what the pattern may (or may not) look like. Additionally, sizing ease will be different for a woven vs knit dress. This one screams for a practice muslin.
