1. Vogue Patterns 2030 by Marcy Tilton

Vogue 2030

This pattern is a great start, Vogue Patterns 2030 by Marcy Tilton is practical yet stylish. The high collar is an interesting detail. Also, the inseam front pockets are super cute. The partial button placket adds a nice designer detail and wearability to the tunic.

With the sleeveless vs three-quarter sleeve option, this tunic will easily transition into fall.

2. Vogue Patterns 2031

The blouse, Vogue Patterns 2031, is a classic button front garment. I like the two sleeve options – one with a cuff and one an elastic casing. The styling with the lace is pretty and very on-trend.

There is a lot of volume at the top of this blouse. Gathering at the front and back yokes makes me wonder about the fabric recommendations — Broadcloth and Twill might look tent-like.

3. Vogue Patterns 2032

Vogue 2032

I am surprised Vogue Patterns 2032 was issued as a summer release. To me it looks like a fall/winter pattern – maybe they are trying to get a jump on the seasons. Either way, you could order this one now and sew it up later.

The fully lined, drop waist skirt has a fly front zipper along with side pockets, back welts, belt loops, and a front slit. The pintuck details give the skirt a polished pressed trouser feel, an up-town all business look.

4. Vogue Patterns 2033

Oh my, Vogue Patterns 2033 is an interesting cut. A bias skirt moves beautifully, but the position of the sash is unfortunate and the back yoke has a very, very low point. It looks gorgeous on the model, but you’d better get your spanks out for this one!

There are a lot of sailor style pants showing up in trendy magazines and Vogue Patterns 2034 is a great rendition of this look. The front flap button closure, with the yoke and back in-seam pockets add cute details. The wide leg pants and side pockets add comfort. The self fringe detail on the pants is a nice touch.

6. Vogue Patterns 2035 by Rachel Comey

Rachel Comey’s jumpsuit, Vogue Patterns 2035, is young and fresh. The front zip bostier style bodice is attached to a loose-fitting pant that is drawn in a the ankle. Side in-seam pockets and back flap-covered patch pockets give you places to put your hands.

The juxtaposition of the fitted bodice and baggy pants is an interesting take on a jumpsuit.

7. Vogue Patterns 2036

I like the details on the vest in Vogue Patterns 2036. The vest has princess seams in the back, long darts in the front, and a side tie that adds style to the straight cut. It is unlined, so it is made to be worn closed, but you could easily add a lining.

The high rise cropped pants are interesting. With the contoured waistband, front fly zipper, and creased legs, they look very business-like, but the shortcut doesn’t work for a lot of body types. It would have been nice if they added a long pant version to this pattern.

Having said all that, I’ll add this one to my cart when it goes on sale just for the vest — it’s too cute!

8. Vogue Patterns 2037

I love Vogue Patterns 2037, it offers lots of possibilities. The classic, semi fitted trouser with a fly front should be in everyone’s pattern stash. The fitted crop is a cute addition to the pattern. The real star is the shirt. This would be great made up in a variety of fabrics. The shaped hem with the back slit, cuffed sleeves, and long length would look great with a pair of skinny leg jeans or pants. This will be another add to my order from Simplicity Inc.

10. Vogue Patterns 2039

Vogue 2039

I’m sorry, Vogue Patterns 2039, to me, doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be. How can you get a good fit on a shirt when it’s cut for two very different body types. Same goes for the pants, it is difficult to refine the fit for either sex. Don’t get me wrong, there is a place for unisex garments, like scrubs that have no fit. However, putting on a boxy men’s shirt is not a look I want to wear. Also, those pants fit her really well, I wonder how much editing would be required to get them to fit a man’s shape.

11. Vogue Patterns 2041

Vogue Patterns 2041 is an adorable vintage Vogue patterns from the 1970s. This super easy make is finished with elastic at the shoulders and wrists. Elastic high-waisted shaping gives the jumpsuit some definition.

My one caveat is there is no photo of a finished garment. All you have to go on is the artist’s rendition of what they think the pattern will look like once it’s sewn together. If you do add this one to your order, keep in mind the finished garment may look a bit different.
