The Inspiration

I spotted this beautiful wrap in a boutique in Positano. The simplicity of the wrapped opening with no clasp or ties caught my attention. It was simple and offered just a serged edge finish.

The Pattern

With four different makes in one pattern, Vogue 9291 is a good value. Wrap A is an elegant ruffled decorative and has contrast lining and a pretty purchased clasp. Wrap C is trimmed with contrast tabs and binding — you could also use a contrast lining if you choose a lighter fabric. Shrug B is a stylish front wrapped opening with ties. Scarf D is an interesting find, it would be a unique addition to your wardrobe with the lace contrast overlay.

The Fabric

The fabric options are almost endless for this wraps, shrug, and scarf sewing pattern. It is also the perfect pattern to have in your stash, for when you need that special item to complete a look.

I used a stretch crepe for Wrap C. It calls for a matching suede trim, based on what was available to me, I used fold over elastic. This Minerva Core Range Prada Stretch Woven Satin Crepe comes in a variety of colors and would be perfect for this project. The also carry a line of fold over elastic in a range of colors allowing it to blend in or contrast.
